Cagrilintide

Cagrilintide is a novel, investigational, long-acting synthetic analog of the natural hormone Amylin. It is an amylin receptor agonist (and calcitonin receptor agonist) developed by Novo Nordisk for once-weekly subcutaneous administration. Its primary action is to suppress appetite, promote satiety, and delay gastric emptying. While effective as a monotherapy for weight loss, it is most promising in combination with the $text{GLP}-1$ agonist semaglutide (CagriSema), where it targets a complementary pathway to achieve significantly greater reductions in body weight and better metabolic control.
